Workshop Zero to pitch deck

In the light of the forthcoming local Slush competition, the Innovation Fund together with the Embassy of Finland in the Republic of Serbia and the World Bank organized a workshop “Zero to pitch deck”, on August 17th in the Science Technology Park „Belgrade“.

The participants had a unique opportunity to learn from Michael Simansky, who has more than 10 years of experience working with startups, as well as her two startups, how to prepare a quality presentation and how to talk to potential investors.

At the beginning of the workshop Mr. Nenad Popovic, Minister in charge for Innovations and Technological Development welcomed the audience together with Ms. Paivi Alatalo, Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of Finland in the Republic of Serbia, Ivan Rakonjac, Innovation Fund Managing Director and Vukasin Markovic, Bstorm, talked about his experience participating at the Slush Conference in Helsinki last year.

This year, the local Slush competition will be held in Belgrade on September 6, in Science Technology Park “Belgrade”. The theme of this year’s competition is sustainable innovations. This is an ideal opportunity for all startup companies that develop genuine and sustainable solutions to the burning issues – in all sectors, as well as from all parts of Serbia, and who have the experience and potential for growth; Skills and the desire to achieve success; A business idea that has attracted interest, but is still at an early stage of development, as well as a prototype in the working phase.

Local Slush competition in Serbia has been held since 2015. Serbia is one of 20 countries around the world in which local competitions will be held during the summer. The winners of the previous two were Neopix’s from Niš with the mobile platform platform They Mean Well and the OrganicNet from Novi Sad with an online platform that connects organic food producers and those who want to live and eat healthy. Both participated in the Slush Conference in Helsinki and the Slush Global Impact  Accelerator.
