PhD Ivan Rakonjac
Interim Managing Director
After graduation from University of Belgrade, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, as the recipient of a scholarship of the governments of Serbia and France, PhD Ivan Rakonjac completed post-graduate (Master) studies in the field of industrial systems engineering at L’École Centrale Paris, and later a specialized course in industrial innovation, at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bologna. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from University of Belgrade.
He has more than ten years of experience in the manufacturing sector, in the development and application of new products, quality control and production management. He managed numerous projects from the field of energy efficiency of public and urban lighting, as well as the environmental impact of lighting, comfort and safety of work areas and open public spaces.
His experience with innovation projects includes developing “Spiritum”, a system of urban lighting which won the “New Vision” expert jury award at the 35th International Construction Fair in Belgrade in 2009, and setting up the first gonyo-photometric laboratories in Serbia for testing technical characteristics of lamps, which later became an integral part of the Design and Development Department of “Meteor”, where Rakonjac was managing director since 2008.
Rakonjac started his lecturing career at the College of Project Management in Belgrade. He is assistant professor at the Faculty of Project and Innovation Management, University EDUCONS, where he teaches Risk Management, Innovation Management and Business Innovation.
He authored more than 20 papers published in the proceedings of scientific gatherings, and in international journals in the field of risk management, project management, innovation management and process industries.
Until his appointment as the Interim Managing Director of the Innovation Fund, he served as the Chairman of the Board of the National Agency for Regional Development.
Operations Manager as of May 2015. responsible for managing projects and programs of the Innovation Fund as well as for international cooperation and financing. As Program Manager within the Innovation Fund, Milena succesfully worked in the period 2011-2015 on preparation, implementation and monitoring of programs and projects. Milena also gained extensive experience as procurement specialist; She worked as Director of the Procurement Department in Hypo Alpe Adria Bank; Procurement Specialist Consultant in the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management and Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications; Coordinated procurement activities and managed projects financed by the World Bank and other financial institutions while working at the Privatization Agency, Republic of Serbia.
Milena has master degree in Industrial System Engineering obtained in the École Central Paris and she has a University degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Belgrade.
Program Manager – International Cooperation and Financing
Natalija Sandic is Program Manager for International Cooperation and Financing at the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia, where she is responsible for coordination of financing programs and preparation of new grant schemes. She has been working with the Innovation Fund since 2011, from the very beginning of the IF’s operational readiness. Sandic has previously worked as a Program Support Officer in Renewable energy sector at USAID Serbia Competitiveness Project / Booz Allen Hamilton. She holds a Master degree in Economics (Faculty for Economics, Finance and Administration, FEFA) and she is the author of the study “Renewable energy sources as a factor of economic development of Serbia” (Faculty for Economics, Finance and Administration, 2013). She speaks English and French.
Administration Manager in the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia since December 2011, in charge of managing and organizing overall operational activities of the Innovation Fund. Previous working experience includes working in the position of Head of Logistics Department – Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Technical Coordinator in the Office of the Minister of Finance and Economy, as well as participation in several international projects. Milan has master degree in Economics obtained at the Faculty of Economics and Engineering Management in Novi Sad. Speaks Serbian and English.
